Spotlight on: Infini RF Microneedling

There are many factors that play a role in the development of lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, with one of the main contributors being the loss of collagen over time. Collagen is a structural protein that provides your skin with strength, durability, and firmness. As we age, collagen levels naturally decrease. Also, collagen can be degraded by external factors, such as UV radiation. Thus, treatments that stimulate new collagen production are one of the most effective ways to diminish the appearance of these signs of aging. One treatment that does exactly that is the Infini RF microneedling technology. Keep reading below to learn more about this unique treatment offered by Dr. Jessica Krant at her New York City office.

What is Infini RF Microneedling?

Infini radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a unique technology that combines the powerful electrothermal energy of fractional radiofrequency with microneedling in a procedure that is gentle yet effective. This technique is known as microneedling fractional radiofrequency (MFR) and has been shown to tighten skin and erase wrinkles.

The microneedling technology uses very fine needles to create micro-perforations in the epidermis. The microneedles also serve as the electrodes to deliver the fractional radiofrequency to precise, predetermined depths. Radiofrequency technology for rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction was first developed in the early 2000s. RF treatments work by heating the targeted area to 65°C, which causes thermolysis. Thermolysis is thermal damage that stimulates the production of new collagen fibers within the dermis. Therefore, this procedure works through two methods of controlled injury: physical injury from the microneedling device and thermolysis, which goes beyond the actual reach of the needle. The body then repairs these injuries by producing new collagen, which gives the skin a more firm, youthful appearance.

Candidates for Infini RF Microneedling

The Infini RF Microneedling technology is ideal for patients who are bothered by the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, and loose or sagging skin. It can also effectively treat loose skin on the neck as well as rejuvenate the appearance of the décolletage. Its safety has been proven for all areas of the face on all skin types. This is because the Infini technology was designed to target the dermis (middle layer of skin) and the RF energy does not act on the surface of your skin. Thus, all skin types are excellent candidates for treatment with Infini RF microneedling.

One of the best aspects of the Infini RF microneedling treatment is that little to no downtime is required after this procedure. Side effects are very minimal, including minor swelling, redness, and bruising, which can last as little as 48 hours, but may be longer depending on treatment location and other factors. The majority of patients return to their normal routine following a treatment session.
Schedule a consultation with Dr. Krant if you’d like to learn more about how the Infini RF Microneedling procedure can rejuvenate your skin and quickly diminish signs of aging.
