What is Clear and Brilliant?
Clear + Brilliant is an FDA-cleared fractional laser treatment system that offers two wavelengths of light to improve the complexion. The original C+B laser uses 1440 nanometers to target the pores, fine lines, and skin tone, while the Clear + Brilliant Permea uses 1927 nanometers to target pigmentation, sun spots, and dullness. Together, they can completely transform the look and feel of your skin.
How Does the Clear + Brilliant Laser Work?
The Clear + Brilliant Laser system works by heating areas of the outermost layer of the skin in a microgrid, leaving uninjured cells between to aid healing. By targeting specific areas of skin with laser energy, the system encourages cell turnover, stimulates collagen production, and increases firmness. The damaged skin is replaced with a more youthful, rejuvenated layer of skin.
Clear + Brilliant also uses a patented Intelligent Optical Tracking™ System (IOTS™) to ensure proper contact with your skin for uniform treatment. This also increases safety since the laser will not fire unless the handpiece is against your skin and being rolled by the physician.

Clear and Brilliant Procedure
On the day of your treatment, Dr. Krant will apply a topical anesthetic cream to ensure your comfort. You’ll also be given protective eyewear. After the cream has been on for 30 or more minutes, Dr. Krant will glide the Clear + Brilliant handpiece over your skin. The intensity level of the laser energy will be customized to suit your skin tone and your skin concerns. At most, you’ll feel a prickly or scratching sensation.
Treatment typically takes 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Recovery & Results
After treatment, you may experience some mild redness, swelling, discomfort, and itchiness. These side effects will typically subside after a few days. You’ll want to avoid excess sun exposure and strenuous exercise and keep your skin clean as you heal.
The results will start to show up after about a week, but more significant results take about a month to fully appear as the skin heals and builds up collagen. Your skin will continue to improve over the next few months after treatment.
While one Clear + Brilliant laser treatment will significantly improve your skin, Dr. Krant recommends 3-4 treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for the ultimate skin rejuvenation.
